General
The legal module contains both a database of legal materials and notes from our national legal experts.
A page is dedicated to universal conventions and regional agreements which are relevant for international migration. For each of these instruments, we set out the ratification status for the 17 countries covered by CARIM.
Country-by–country research gives access to the legal texts collected by our correspondents in each of the countries covered by CARIM in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Region and Sub-Saharan Africa. Legislation and regulations are organized around key elements of the migratory process, which are listed below. National legal provisions regarding migration may stem from constitutions, codes, laws, regulations, decrees or decisions.
Regulation can also result from case-law, as well as bilateral or multilateral agreements concerning migration. We try to provide original, relevant and important legal documents on migration into, through and from the country of interest.
Then, for still more detailed information, you may consult the legal experts’ notes and papers.
